2023 NFFF Information

Fellow NFFF Pipes and Drums Members,

The staff at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial has made a decision to hold Memorial Weekend this year over the weekend of May 5th-7th.

If you are staying local, please reserve a room at a local hotel ASAP before they fill up as there is a lot going on in the area that weekend.

This is a transition year moving to the Spring so expect a lot of moving pieces as we work through different logistics.

Below is the registration information for this year from the NFFF Staff. Reach out with any questions.

Stay safe,

Ivan, Odie and the rest of your NFFFPD Leadership

Dear Honor Guard, Pipes & Drums Personnel,
The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation cordially invites Honor Guard, Pipes & Drums personnel to register to participate during the 42nd annual National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend on May 5-7, 2023, in Emmitsburg, Maryland. On this special weekend, a grateful nation will honor and remember the 145 brave men and women who died in the line of duty during 2022, and those who died in previous years and were reported to the Foundation in 2022. Whether you are a member of the department of a fallen firefighter or a member of the extended fire service family, your involvement is very important to the families of these men and women.
All personnel are responsible for making their own off campus lodging arrangements and paying all associated expenses. On-campus housing is offered to up to (4) members from a department having someone honored this year and is available on a first come, first served basis. As always, keep in mind that due to a multitude of reasons, the potential exists for limited or no on-campus housing availability for the Memorial Weekend. A prudent step would be to secure alternate off-campus lodging now, ensuring no-cost cancellation in the event you do not need off-campus housing.
As in 2022, if you plan to eat on campus, you will need to purchase a meal ticket to eat in the dining hall. On Saturday, lunch is being provided by Mission BBQ and will be at no cost. All personnel are responsible for the cost of their own on- and off-campus meals, as well as travel arrangements to/from Emmitsburg and associated expenses.
The 2023 Memorial Weekend Honor Guard, Pipes & Drums registration is now open, and you can complete the registration process at:  https://cvent.me/9ZVkZP?rt=R7u2gOgX5UKm75QNP74X0APlease verify that your registration type is Honor Guard/Pipes & Drums.
NOTE: The registration portal will close on April 21, 2023, so be sure all your personnel have completed the process by then. – no exceptions.
